Mother's day weekend was beautiful as usual, despite the rain. I hopped the train to mom's on Friday night and stayed until Sunday afternoon. Nattie and Ellen (my sisters, in case I haven't mentioned that fact yet) came over for Mother's day lunch on Sunday, bringing with them a creamy chocolate chip cheesecake for dessert. I helped mom in the kitchen, basically doing clean-up since I can't cook my way out of a paper bag. Sure, I can boil water and microwave a Healthy Choice meal, but those two are the limits of my skill in the culinary department. My other contribution was a large bouquet of flowers: pastel pink tulips to act as a gentle counterpoint to mom's new pale mint green living room.
On Saturday night, I sat down to catch Gundam Seed. Mom had looked in on me at first but then decided to watch. In fact, she enjoyed the anime so much we both ended up sitting through Inuyasha and Wolf's Rain as well (she loved Wolf's Rain).
There was tons of leftover food so mom sent all of it home with me. Now I won't have to cook for at least a couple of days. Yay for moms!
